DAN WILSON BIO
Dan Wilson, of Woodlawn, IL was born and raised in the country in Southern Illinois. His lifelong dream is to sing at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, TN. Dan’s first singing experience was at the age of 3 when he sang at his grand-parents church. He has written over 20 songs in the past 15 years. Ten of his songs have been recorded and are available on CD. Dan bases his writing on the Bible and the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
Dan and his wife, Sue, have been married for 25 years and are blessed with 2 daughters, 3 grandsons and 1 granddaughter. Dan and Sue worship at Boyd Christian Church in Boyd, IL.
Dan owns, manages, sings baritone and is the bus driver for The Shepherdsmen Quartet. He is looking forward to many more years of singing and writing gospel music and songs.
SCOTT SHARP BIO
Scott Sharp sings bass for The Shepherdsmen Quartet. Scott, his wife Beth and their two children, Wes and Catherine, are members of First Baptist Church in Nashville, IL where he serves as Pastor and Minister of Music.
Music is an important part of life in Scott’s home. Both of his children are accomplished pianists. His son, Wes, also plays trombone and daughter, Catherine, also plays trumpet. Scott plays euphonium as well, so he and the kids often perform as a brass trio in church.
Scott is a retired Air Force pilot. He flew C-130s and C-20s and has over 3,000 hours of flying time. During the first Gulf War, he had the privilege of serving as pilot for Gen. H. Norman Schwarzkopf. Scott has traveled all over the world and has seen a lot of interesting things, but one of the things he loves doing the most is singing with a southern gospel quartet.
ROD MARLOW BIO
Rod Marlow, 2nd tenor, of Woodlawn, IL joined the group in March, 2011. He began harmonizing at age six, and at age nine, was the original tenor with the “Christianaires Quartet” over 50 years ago. He continues to sing and play piano with his sisters as “The Marlow Family”.
He and wife Elaine met at St. Louis Christian College where they sang in the concert choir. They have two children and two grandchildren. After forty years in church ministry, preaching and singing Southern Gospel, they have come back home and worship at Woodlawn Christian Church, where it all began.
KEN BEALS BIO
John “Ken” Beals grew up on a horse and cattle farm in Indiana. He sang in a children’s Barbershop quartet at the age of 10. Ken went on to sing throughout high school and later with the Purdue Glee Club, where he met our bass singer, Scott Sharp.
Ken is a retired Lt. Col. from the USAF, and recently returned from a 3 year tour in Iraq. Ken and wife, Rhonda, are active members of Westview Baptist Church in Swansea, IL.
When not on the road with the quartet, he sings tenor in the church choir and enjoys spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. Ken is excited to be singing tenor with The Shepherdsmen.
